Course 1 - First Steps Into Recovery

Building A Lifestyle of Recovery

Many men (and many women) struggle with self-destructive sexual behaviors. Sex, porn, fantasy, and masturbation is something that usually feels good in the moment but can destroy relationships, drives feelings of loneliness, shame, and guilt. 40 million adults in the United States admit to viewing pornography regularly, while 10% (4 million) acknowledge that they can’t stop.

Have you experienced?

Feelings of shame and guilt when you are done masturbating and watching porn. Have you have promised and committed to yourself to stop but you always come back to porn.

You have failed at stopping. You can go a week, maybe a month or two without looking at porn and masturbating yet something happens and you fall backing the patters. It is like you feel stuck in a loop. When you get pulled back in, you beat yourself up because “you're not strong enough” or you think “what’s wrong with me.”

Too much online information. From others in recovery to therapist or “sex-positive” bloggers, there s a lot of miss information about human sexuality online. Maybe you have tried to figure out ways to stop but struggle in how all the info works together.

If you have experienced any of these signs and symptoms of porn and sex addiction, this course is for you.

  • Obsessing with pornography. It feels like you can’t stop, viewing it multiple times a day, viewing it in the bathroom, in public, while driving, or at work
  • You spend more time watching pornography then you do in other enjoyable actives
  • Spend less time with others
  • You avoid spending time attending to personal responsibilities
  • Feel shame and guilt after viewing pornography
  • Spending more money than you should on pornography
  • Have cravings to view more pornography, feeling trigger throughout the day
  • You lost time spending hours viewing pornography or trying to sneak it in as often as you can
  • Losing interest in sex
  • You have injured yourself by masturbating

If any of these resonate with you

You have come to the right place.

Tyler Rich MS LMFT
Tyler Rich MS LMFT

I am Tyler Rich. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located within Las Vegas Nevada. I was one of those guys who always found myself helping people throughout my lifetime. When I entered college, I took my first counseling class by accident (the girl I was dating at the time talked me into it). While that relationship didn’t last the impact of that class did. I found myself changing my career to helping people (before I choice therapy, I was planning on going into the ministry.)

During my last year in undergrad work, I earned experience working in the psych department for Clark County Juvenal Justice. This was my first experiences of working with addiction and addiction-related problems. This foundation in how addictions impact not just individuals, but family and community influence how I work with clients. I took about 10 years off from therapy to gain real-world experiences working in the business sector. Through my own therapy and guidance from loved ones, I went back to school to earn my Masters in Marriage Family and Child Therapy.

While in graduate schools, I worked in a dual diagnoses rehab. This expanse helped me understand a deeper level of what recovery is and what recovery isn’t. For the last 5 years, I have been working specifically with men and women who struggle with porn and sex addiction. This experience has to lead me to understand that compulsive sexual behaviors can destroy peoples lives and relationship. As I have lead groups of men into recovery and worked with individual clients, I created my own workbooks that would help them outside of therapy.

These workbooks started off as a supplement to therapy. But I soon learned that the psycho-educational information and self-development journaling of these workbooks helped my clients who struggled for years to find long-lasting sobriety. Not just finding sobriety but finding new ways to have a deeper connection with loved ones, more peace, and happiness in their own lives. That is the reason I created this online program to help as many other men overcome compulsive sexual behaviors.

What Keeps You Away From Sexual Addiction Treatment Or Pornography Addiction Treatment?

  • 12 step and other “religious” programs don’t work for me.

While faith and religion are essential to some people. Others religious based or "influenced" programs could keep you from buying into recovery. This program is a non-religious program. The program does encourage you to be spiritual and develop some type of connection to something bigger than yourself (community, global purpose). This program is made so if you are religious, non-religious, or atheistic, you can participate.

  • I don’t think all the course are right for me in my recovery, do I need to complete all of them?

Learning to listen to yourself in recovery is an important step. We have designed our recovery program to be interconnected, and each course is built on the information you learned in a different course. The online program is designed for you to complete all course; however, you have the choice to buy each course individually.

  • When you purchase the sexual addiction or pornography addiction online program together, there are discounts?

We recommend that you just start our first course, First Step Into Recovery. This course will introduce each other courses and why they are so crucial to long term recovery. And yes if you purchase the bundled course, it is about half as much as buying each course individually

  • Recovery is just too expensive!

In our program, we talk a lot about building a lifestyle of recovery. Recovery is a mindset that is focusing on commit to doing something different, this means re-prioritized how you think about recovery and healing work. When you commit finically to a recovery process, you are investing in making long-term changes. Recovery from sexual addiction and pornography addiction is a long-term process. Yet when you can stick with recovery, you will find that doing recover work was an investment in yourself, and in your relationship leading to a Richer Life. You can check out our blog post on the real cost of porn addiction that shows our online course cost nothing compared to the actual price of porn addiction.

Other online programs provide only quick tools, or 8 weeks worth of material for about half the price of this program. This program, when perched as a bundle, will be less than the cost of going to rehab for a week, or therapy for 6 months.

  • Sex addiction and porn addiction are not a real thing, so there is no need for recovery?

You can google that there is no such thing as sexual addiction or pornography addiction, and you will find many websites or articles that state that is the case. You will also see a wide array of sites and articles that state it is an addiction. Human sexuality is complicated.

Yet if your problematic sexual behaviors, from looking at porn, sexting, to mutual sexual partners could be harming you. Putting you at risk for sexual transited inflections, dating your relationship with your partner and family, and creating a secret life that you keep from most people. The question isn’t if sex addiction is real or not the question is does your problem sexual behavior creating ha unhealthy lifestyle for you. If you have adverse effects from harmful sexual behavior, then it doesn’t matter if we call it an addiction, numbing or problematic, it is time to make a change. You can read more about if porn and sex addiction is real in our blog post on the topic.

  • Recovery from Sexual Addiction or Pornography Addiction is just too hard.

Our program is designed for you to have a healthy sex life. We are very sex-positive and want all people to have a healthy, fulfilled sex life that is focused on meeting their natural desires and emotional needs. Stopping porn use, stopping acting out sexual is a difficult journey, yet once you start on this journey, you will find healthy sexuality.

Those who we have helped with our program have found a more meaningful healthy sex life. We have been told how they find more enjoyment and meaning in sex with their partner once they have left the numbing sexual behavior behind. Yes, we know how hard stopping looking at porn can be, we know how hard it is to stop acting out sexually. Yet we know that once you find a lifestyle of recovery, you will find happiness and joy in sex you might have never experienced before.

  • Why is this online program different from others?

This program has been developed by a psychotherapist who has worked with many men to help them live a life of recovery. Unlike other programs that are created and lead by someone who has found sobriety and just sharing what works for them. Tyler Rich LMFT has pulled the latest research about addiction and recovery as the foundation. Along with focusing on building strong relationships and looking within yourself to overcome your destructive behaviors.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this course different from other online “recovery” courses?
Unlike many online programs that have been developed by people who just share their story of recovery. This program is built on the latest research on addictions and relationships. This program is built on 3 pillars: understand addiction, healing parts of yourself, and improve your relationship. This course is for those who are genuinely committed to long term recovery, and not just looking for an 8-week path to sobriety.
Will this course cure me of my compulsive (addictive) behavior?
This course is not a cure. If you follow the directions from this course, do the work that the journal and actives ask of you. You will have all the tools needed to live a lifestyle of recovery. There is no cure for addiction, there is overcoming addiction and building safeguards.

However, if you do not have a problem with porn but have other sexually compulsive behaviors, this program will be just as helpful.
Is this program for just men?

Yes. Much of what you need to find recovery is available in books, youtube videos, blog post. Yet it can be overwhelming to search for all of that material by its self, and then having to figure it out how it works together. Part of my training as a therapist is to take psychoeducational materials and share them with clients in the most impactful way. That is how this program was developed in the first place.
