Developing Your Bottom Lines

This is your first step in recovery. Before looking at how to stop your addictive behavior, what lead to your addictive behavior or how to repair your relationships. You first must start to figure out what behavior you are wanting to stop. Developing a bottom line is the first step in recovery.

A bottom line - is when you list out specific behaviors that you no longer wish to take part in.

It is important to remember that bottom lines are different for everyone and that your bottom lines might change with time. 


Activity

Create a list of your bottom lines.

List all behaviors that you no longer wish to engage in. Please list as many bottom lines as you can, you might want to add more throughout this program.

Common bottom lines include:

  1. No longer watching pornography
  2. No longer visiting prostitutes
  3. Ending all on gong affairs
  4. Deleting all social media accounts
