Daily Recovery Journal

Your recovery journal should be used as a way to process what you are learning in this course. Starting to write and process feelings you might not know what to write about or will only have a few things to say THAT IS OK. The goal is to develop a muscle of learning to process your thoughts and feelings. You can use the following questions to start your recovery journal. Take 5 to 15 minutes every day to write in your journal.

Journal

  • What steps did I take in my recovery today?
  • Did the topic of today trigger my mind to think about another topics/triggers/thoughts? If your mind started thinking about something else what was it? (what was it? why do you think it's connected?)
  • Am I struggle with any aspect from the recovery program? If so what is it and why?
  • What comfortable or uncomfortable emotions am I feeling right now?
  • Do a check in with yourself. Stay away from words like ok, good, fine.
  • List three positive things that you did today or 3 things you are grateful for. (Don't repeat the 3 positive things for the next 7 days)
